Telemedicine is a convenient resource for our patients
Our San Antonio OBGYNs are pleased to offer patients the convenience and accessibility of telemedicine. Virtual visits allow patients to schedule video appointments with our physicians for certain aspects of care.
When is telemedicine appropriate?
Virtual visits is appropriate for some appointments that previously occurred in the office.
- Follow-up visits
- Medication management
- Lab and test results
- General concerns
Video visits are not appropriate when a patient needs a wellness visit or has a problem that needs to be diagnosed.
How do video visits work?
In order to use this technology, patients need to have a smartphone, tablet or computer. A patient can have a successful telemedicine experience by following a few easy steps.
- The patient schedules an appointment for a video visit with our schedulers.
- She receives a text or email asking her to log in using the app or the website to confirm her information.
- 15 minutes prior to the appointment, the patient needs to log on. If our San Antonio Ob/Gyns are running a bit late, she will stay logged on and wait.
Women should always check their WiFi or wired connection before the appointment and consider wearing headphones for privacy and better sound quality.
What else do patients need to know about their appointments?
Telemedicine visits allow patients to see our experienced physicians in a new way that better fits their busy lives. Most insurance plans cover video visits. Patients are charged the same fee as an office visit and pay the same co-pays. Every appointment features bank-grade encryption to ensure that the appointment is secure.
The benefits of telemedicine
Our San Antonio recognize the benefits of virtual visits for our patients. This technology allows our patients to schedule appointments while remaining at work or home, saving travel and office visit time. Every telemedicine session is conducted exclusively by our medical practitioners, so patients see the professionals they know and trust.
Our physicians bring expertise and compassion to every appointment
Whether a patient sees our physicians for a video visit or an office visit, she can rest assured that our San Antonio OBGYNs always provide individualized care to every woman.
Telemedicine is an innovation that benefits patients while still maintaining our high standard of care. To learn more about video visits or to make an appointment, contact us.
